We had a lovely time today (June 3rd 2014), we had a quiz about musicals and I told them some interesting facts about the song Getting to Know You which was in the musical, The King and I. Apparently the melody had been written for South Pacific but then discarded, in the King and I Anna sings this song to the children who are in her charge. I talked about how getting to know God is a life long process, we cannot instantly know Him. By studying His word, talking to Him in prayer, coming together with other Christians we learn more and more about the heart of God and His plan and purpose for each one of us.
We also practiced some songs for the Home and Families weekend which is the 18th and 19th of July.
We also practiced a dance which some of the ladies will be doing and I am sure that after plenty of practice and a lot of tweaking it will be wonderful, and I am sure that as it is for the honour and glory of God He will accept our sacrifice of praise.
We learn something new everyday about the Lord Jesus, and God our Father if we are willing to be teachable. God on the other hand doesn't have to learn anything about us, He knows all about us all ready and nothing we do takes Him by surprise, we may give Him joy, we may please Him, we may delight Him, but oft times we may grieve Him because of something wrong we have said, or done, or even left unsaid or undone but one of the wonderful things that I have learnt about God is in the following verse from the Bible.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
When we are born again, when we have confessed our sin, repented of our sin and asked Jesus into our lives then that it the start of a wonderful journey of getting to know God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
