Bees and Honey Pots

Over two weeks one of our ladies shared something’s we are to be from scripture. She had made a beehive, printed out strips with Bible verses on with a little bee at the front, (which look a bit like a wasp but never mind). So there would be a bee sticker, a word, and then a scripture. The first week the ladies all took a bee from the hive and read out the scripture which was then expounded upon.

The second week she brought the hive with the bees and this time small jars of honey too. Some different scriptures were read out, and then she produced some air clay so we all set too to make a small pot to put our honey in, it was great fun.

At the end she left us all with this thought, every time you look at the honey pot you've made may it remind you to be pliable in the hands of the Lord as he moulds you into what He wants you to be.

Scripture is full of what we should be, the first thing we must be is born again:
Born again
John 3: 3
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

So we must repent of our sins, turn away from them and believe and follow the Lord Jesus.
Separate
2 Corinthians 6:17
Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

We must be separate from the world. We can’t help being in it, but we are not to be of it. People should be able to see that we are different from the world.
Light
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

So we must be light in this dark world, our light is Jesus, He is the light of the world and if we are born again His light will shine through us.

There was a host of other be’s she gave us,
BE
Filled
Ephesians 5:18
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

Kind
Ephesians 4:32
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Loving
John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another;
as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Salt
Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth;

Humble
1 Peter 5:6
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,
that He may exalt you in due time,

Ready
Matthew 24:44
Therefore you also be ready,
for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Justified
Galatians 2:16
knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law;
for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Zealous
1 Corinthians 14:12
Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts,
let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.

Renewed
Ephesians 4:22
that you put off, concerning your former conduct,
the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23  and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Imitators
Ephesians 5:1
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.

Strong
Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Sincere
Philippians 1:10
that you may approve the things that are excellent,
that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

Glad

This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Thankful
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, t
o which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Sober
1 Thessalonians 5:8
But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

Patient
1 Thessalonians 5:14
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

An Example
1 Timothy 4:12
be an example to the believers in word,
in conduct, in love, in spirit,
in faith, in purity.

At peace
Romans 5:1
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness,
without which no one will see the Lord:

Gentle
2 Timothy 2:4
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all,
able to teach, patient,

Humble
Romans 12:16
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

Fruitful
Galatians 5:23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Faithful
Proverbs 11:13
A talebearer reveals secrets,
But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.

Steadfast
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Confident
Philippians 1:6
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

Strong
Ephesians 6:10
 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

A Servant
Psalm 100:2
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.

Crucified
Galatians 5:24
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh
with its passions and desires.

Vigilant
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Godly
Titus 2:12
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

Able
Ephesians 6:13
therefore take up the whole armour of God,
that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Holy
1 Peter 1:15
but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Joyous
Psalm 5:11
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.

Generous

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart,
not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

A Doer

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

In Control
James 3:10
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Transformed
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

A Confessor
Matthew 10:32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men,
him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.

A Comfort
2 Corinthians 1: 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

If we are truly born again and we are walking in the Spirit, we have this wonderful promise.
Romans 8:29
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

A Glorious Summer

We had a lovely time on Tuesday at sunshine corner at our Home League, we have had such a glorious summer and so we shared stories about lovely things that have happened during the summer months, one lady gave a wonderful testimony
I have been unable to pick just one memory for this Summer as it has all been so good and a summer I never thought I would have,10 Years ago I became ill, I had a 'dizzy spell' that never left me and I was left with chronic debilitating symptoms affecting my balance and cognitive ability. Over the years it grew worse and worse until agoraphobia took over and I stopped going out.
In 2013 I called out to God in desperation and He answered me. Since then things have improved more and more, it has been a slow progress but the Lord has remained faithful throughout and used each trail to help me grow in Him and in faith.
This past Summer I have been to the seaside 5 times, I have been on trains and buses, I have had lots of trips out, I have helped organise events for my local community and I have had my little 1 year old to enjoy it all with. It has been better than anything I have prayed for and beyond anything I dreamed off and its all down to The Lord Jesus. Praise His name!

Isn’t that wonderful?

You can read about another summer memory from one of our ladies here: Don't Put off till Tomorrow

We have had a glorious summer but you know despite the sunshine there have been dull days, overcast days, and days with thunder storms. As it has been this summer so our lives are, we have wonderful times and we have times of trial but whether the sun is shining or whether it is overcast we can rely on the promise of Jesus, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

 God Hath Not Promised.

God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labour, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain, rocky and steep,
Never a river, turbid and deep.
